PITTSBURGH, PA - Every weekend, people head Downtown for artistic and cultural attractions, sporting events, festivals and to stuff their pie holes with some incredible brunch offerings.
Which places Downtown have the best mimosas and Bloody Mary bars, or pancakes and waffles, is a matter of opinion, of course. And to form educated opinions on a matter as important as brunch should require sampling a host of Downtown brunch options.
The following list is not inclusive, but here are some Downtown brunches you definitely should consider trying:

Meat & Potatoes, 649 Penn Avenue, Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Who wouldn't want to break their overnight fast with some duck pate with jelly, pancakes and Eggs Benedict? This acclaimed Downtown eatery also offers a Bloody Mary bar with a selection of flavored vodkas.

This Big Burrito restaurant offers dishes such as pickle-brined fried chicken and biscuit with chorizo gravy. Another unique offering are waffles made from polenta. Yum. An added bonus: you can wash down your meal with some vino in an eatery with a sterling wine list.
Ten Penny, 960 Penn Avenue, Saturday and Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
There's no other place we're aware of that offers the dirty pierogi flatbread, which is served with kielbasa. Also try the strawberry lemon pancakes and doughnut holes. The regular lunch menu also is available, offering salads, grilled cheese sandwiches and more.
Revel, 242 Forbes Avenue, Saturdays and Sundays, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Located just steps from Market Square, Revel offers build your own Bloody Marys, single Mimosas for $7 and all you can drink for $14. Dining options include shrimp and grits, Maryland eggs Benedict, a variety of pancakes and waffles and salads.
City Works, 2 PPG Place, Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Worth it just for the Churchill Bloody Mary - a 20-ounce goblet filled with spicy Bloody Mary mix, Tito’s Handmade vodka, crowned with a grilled shrimp and a skewer loaded with cubed pepper jack cheese, cornichon, cherry tomato, Gibson cocktail onion and aSlim Jim stir stick. Wow. If you prefer beer, well, you have quite a selection from which to choose.
The Commoner, 620 William Penn Place, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This brunch perhaps is best known for the Bubble 'N' Squeak, which is made with Yukon gold postatoes, brussel sprout, brussels sprout, bacon lardon, zuback farms duck egg, spring onion and crème fraiche. And check out their Bloody Mary:

For $29, you can grab juice or a cocktail, an appetizer and an entrée. You also can go a la care with delicacies such as potato doughnuts or go more traditional with bourbon and vanilla bean
