Hey everyone—Happy Thursday! I hope your day is off to a great start. Let's take five to cover all of the biggest news you need to know in Pittsburgh today. Foodies, you'll love hearing about some new restaurants opening soon (and you also might be sad to hear about the closing of a gluten-free favorite). We'll also cover a fatal shooting in Allegheny County, and the first-ever Girls Fire Camp sparking firefighting careers for teens.

Expect fog again this morning; followed by sunshine. High: 88 Low: 69.

Here are the top stories today in Pittsburgh:

1) Authorities recently announced that an arrest warrant was issued for the shooter of a 29-year-old man in North Braddock earlier this month. The incident occurred on Aug. 14 around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Jones and Baldridge avenues. The victim, Leonard Morris-Graham, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Jamir Washington-Morgan, 20, has been charged with criminal homicide in the shooting death. Washington-Morgan is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and has a large build, police reported. He may have relations to the Braddock and Swissvale areas. With information, call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted to police via social media.

2) If you're feeling like it's been a minute since you've tried a new restaurant, you're in luck — two new dining experiences are opening in the Pittsburgh area. Let's start with Yosteria, located in Sharpsburg. Named after an Italian osteria with a Y for Youngstown, the restaurant will serve a "very simple, classic Italian menu" for takeout and dine-in. You can expect to find pizza (both Roman and Neapolitan styles), roasted chicken thighs, Italian sausage, classic beans and greens and caprese salad, among other dishes. To drink, Italian wines will be on the menu. Though the interior is mostly finished, there is no set open date yet. Next up: Poco Loco, ready to open its doors in Mount Lebanon. This foodie hot spot is a new, 'fast-casual' burrito spot from the owners of Totopo Cocina & Cantina. According to its owners, "The restaurant aims to create something that could work well for professionals looking to grab lunch, or for teenagers hanging with their friends." You can expect build-your-own burritos, quesadillas or salads with various proteins, toppings and sauce options. They'll also offer a super portable option for folks on the go — a walking taco and their own version of the recently discontinued 'Choco-Taco.'

3) Speaking of food, a Pittsburgh gluten-free bakery is closing its doors. Gluuteny, based out of Squirrel Hill, announced its closure via social media and on its website after 15 years of business serving gluten-free baked goods. Ownership cites pandemic-related lack of staffing shortages as part of the problem. Saturday, Aug. 27 will be the last day of business for the bakery. "We very much regret having to take this course of action and greatly appreciate the support of our loyal customers over the years," management said, via the Gluuteny website. Anyone with a current pick-up scheduled, or wedding order, will be contacted about a refund.

4) Teenage girls exploring future career paths are now able to learn about the opportunity to fight fires for a living. And in this specific line of work, Pittsburgh women have been known to make their mark on history. In 1976, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire hired Toni McIntosh, the city's first Black female firefighter. She also happened to be one of the first women firefighters in the country. This week, the city hopes to expand upon this legacy with the first-ever Girls Fire Camp. The idea for this camp started from an effort to diversify the force and reduce gender barriers. Girls Fire Camp started on Monday, and includes CPR certifications, 'Stop the Bleed' techniques, and common firefighter drills. Campers in attendance will also practice the two most common firefighter physical training tasks that are most often failed by women. The camp is being led by all four current Pittsburgh bureau female firefighters.

5) A street party like no other is coming to Pittsburgh's South Side community on Saturday, Sept. 10. Fundraising event 'The Bash at City Theatre' is making its return honoring Tony Ferrieri, City Theatre director of production/resident scenic designer, who is retiring after more than four decades with the organization this fall. Attendees can expect music, food, libations, community, and an epic dance party hosted by 1Hood. Bingham Street will be closed from 13th to 14th streets to make room for food vendors, artisan markets and entertainment stages. Those planning to attend can expect a crowd — in 2019, the Bash welcomed 500 guests.
