Former Heinz Field Giant Ketchup Bottle Finds New Home

PITTSBURGH, PA — The second of two iconic Heinz Ketchup bottles that were removed from Heinz Stadium last year when the venue was renamed Acrisure Stadium has found a new home.

Kraft Heinz, headquartered jointly in Pittsburgh and Chicago, announced Wednesday that the remaining bottle will be installed on Dec. 21 at the Heinz History Center in the Strip District. People can begin taking selfies with the bottle on Dec. 22.

Kraft Heinz said is has partnered with the center, which is affiliated with the Smithsonian, to memorialize the bottle as a historical artifact.

“We’re committed to our ongoing support of the Pittsburgh community, a city that is our co-headquarters and where we have a proud 150+ year legacy,”the company said in a statement.

In April, the other bottle was installed at Acrisure Stadium's Gate C.

The bottles spent the first two-plus decades of the venue's existence on each side of the scoreboard.
