Former Steelers Announcer Randy Cosgrove Dies
Mr. Cosgrove also was heavily involved in high school athletics.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Randy Cosgrove wasn’t just the Pittsburgh Steelers’ public address announcer for 15 years. More than the voice you heard on Sundays at Heinz Field, he was a prominent presence in the world of southwestern Pennsylvania high school athletics.
Mr. Cosgrove, of Coraopolis, died Tuesday, Dec. 4 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was 67.
After graduating from Plum High School, where he was admitted to the school Hall of Fame in 2011, Mr. Cosgrove obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from Ashland University in 1973.

Mr. Cosgrove began his sports career as Robert Morris University’s sports information director and also served as athletic director at North Hills High School, Ambridge High School and Bishop Canevin High School.
Deeply active in the community, Mr. Cosgrove was a member of the Coraopolis United Methodist Church, served on the Coraopolis Memorial Library board and was a member of Cornell Youth Athletic Association, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association and Athletic Directors Association.

Mr. Cosgrove also was a Cornell School District board member and its former president.
Mr. Cosgrove is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeanne (Trunick) Cosgrove; daughters Nikole (Craig) DeWitt, Amber (Timothy) Baker, Ashley (Mike) McAnaney and Allison Cosgrove; a son, Austin Cosgrove and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elaine (Reagle) Cosgrove.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Further visitation on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. Memorial Service of Celebration at Coraopolis United Methodist Church, 1205 Ridge Ave.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to the American Heart Association or Coraopolis United Methodist Church.
