Giant Eagle Installing Plexiglass Dividers At Checkout Areas
The grocery chain also wants customers to stop using reusable bags during the coronavirus outbreak.
PITTSBURGH, PA - Giant Eagle has announced several designed to help lessen the spread of the coronavirus. The region's largest grocery store chain is installing plexiglass dividers to checkout and customer service areas in Giant Eagle, Market District, Pharmacy and GetGo locations.
Giant Eagle also is installing floor indicators and signs at checkout lanes indicating how much social distancing space should be kept between customers.
Additionally, Giant Eagle is temporarily halting the phasing out of single-use plastic grocery bags and is asking customers not to bring reusable bags into stores during the outbreak. The company is temporarily suspending its fuelperks+ one perk per reusable bag used promotion.
