Gunfire Erupts In Downtown Pittsburgh Fast Food Restaurant

Bullets flew Thursday at a popular Downtown Pittsburgh eatery.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Shots were fired Thursday inside of the Arby's restaurant in the 800 block of Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh.

When police responded to 911 calls just after 3 p.m., they found that the two men who had exchanged gunfire had fled the area. Officers located and detained a man near the scene with a gunshot wound to his leg; he was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

One firearm was recovered in the area of Fifth Avenue and Wood Street.

Police are reviewing all available video footage as they continue to search for a second suspect, a man believed to be in his mid-twenties.

The initial investigation indicates that the two individuals possibly knew each other and had some type of altercation before shots were fired.

There were employees and patrons inside the restaurant at the time of the incident, but no one else was injured.
