A tractor trailer crash early Monday sent the chemicals oozing into the Pittsburgh-area stream.

LINCOLN BOROUGH, PA — Hazmat crews remained on the scene of a tractor trailer crash early Monday that caused chemicals to leak into a nearby stream.

The truck was carrying about 80 55-gallon drums of a two-part epoxy chemical, some of which were found to be leaking. The truck also was leaking diesel into the stream.
The product leaking was determined to be a two-part epoxy, 40 drums of part one and 40 drums of part two, that presents no air or fire hazards. The hazards to the stream are localized and have been contained and are being monitored until clean-up contractors arrive to stabilize the remaining product barrels. Once that occurs, the truck and trailer will be removed.
