Health Department Issues Consumer Alert For Pittsburgh-Area Bar

DUQUESNE, PA - The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Safari Club on Grant Avenue in Duquesne for various violations.
A recent inspection found water-damaged and debris covered beer cans in the basement. Edible items also were found in the basement, a non-approved area for food storage.
Additionally, moldy beer cans were found in the reach-in cooler. The bottom of the cooler was dirty and the beer was sitting in the soiled surface.

Raw chicken was found uncovered in a residential refrigerator, with raw chicken juices and debris on every shelf and the juices pooling at the bottom.
Inspectors noted that the bar also lacks a proper refrigeration unit and that prepared foods are being kept in a home-style cooler.
