Health Department Warns Of Additional Measles Exposures

Three more locations of potential exposure have been identified..

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) has identified several new locations where the four individuals with measles reported last week might have exposed others to the disease.

In addition to the Pittsburgh International Airport on April 16 between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m., the Enterprise Rent-a_Car on Babcock Boulevard in Ross on May 1 between the hours of 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. three additional potential public exposures happened at the following locations and times.

  • Milky Way restaurant in Squirrel Hill, April 17 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Red White and Blue Thrift Store on Ohio River Boulevard, April 24 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.
  • National Aviary on the North Side, April 28, 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

While most people are not at risk because they have been immunized or have had the ailment, the health department advises anyone who is susceptible to measles or who becomes ill with symptoms of measles to contact their primary care provider immediately.
