Heavy Rain Could Trigger Flooding In Pittsburgh Area
With several days of moderate to heavy rain on the way, the National Weather Service is warning of potential flooding in Western PA.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A prolonged period of rainfall from now through Saturday, moderate to heavy at times, will create notable rises in area rivers and streams while increasing the risk for localized flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
The greatest potential for localized flooding will be in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
The weather service says anywhere from 1.25 to 2.75 inches of rain is possible in Western Pennsylvania through Saturday. The current predicted rainfall amounts:

- Today: Between a half and three quarters of an inch.
- Tonight: Between a quarter and a half of an inch.
- Friday: Between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
- Friday night: Between a quarter and a half of an inch.
- Saturday: Between a quarter and a half of an inch.
The rain finally will move out of the region Saturday night. Expect a sunny day on Sunday, with high temperatures in the mid-50s.
