In 2023, USA Today readers selected the History Center as the nation’s second-best history museum. The honor eventually led to the “3 for Free” initiative, when all visitors received free admission at the History Center, Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, and the Andy Warhol Museum thanks to support from the Allegheny Regional Asset District.
