Here's How Much Snow To Expect In Pittsburgh This Winter: AccuWeather
State College-based AccuWeather offers a hint of what could be in store in the coming months.

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's only late October, but the feel of winter has been in the air this week with well-below average temperatures, sleet and wet snow, and inescapable blustery winds.
Although temperatures are expected to moderate back to normal levels by the weekend, this week's weather undoubtedly has had people wondering how soon it will be before Pittsburgh is in winter's icy grasp - and how much snow Western Pennsylvania can expect during the season.
Although snowfall throughout the winter is predicted to be lower than normal in the Ohio Valley, State College-based AccuWeather is forecasting an average amount of snow to shovel for the Pittsburgh area.

Here are some snowfall numbers AccuWeather provided:
- Pittsburgh average winter snowfall: 44.1 inches
- 2021-22 Pittsburgh winter snowfall: 43.4 inches
- 2022-23 predicted Pittsburgh winter snowfall: 40-45 inches
- 2022-23 predicted number of Winter days with accumulating snow: 38
Northeast and Midwest residents will experience a few winter previews in November and December as waves of cold air dive down from Canada, but AccuWeather forecasters predict the biggest blasts of cold air will hold off until later in the winter. The clash of cold air with lingering warmth could spark an out-of-season severe weather event in the Ohio Valley late in
November or in December.
