Hot Enough For You, Pittsburgh?
Despite perspiration-inspiring temperatures this week, southwestern Pennsylvania hasn't had a hot summer to date.

PITTSBURGH, PA - It might be broiling this week, but it’s been nowhere near a record-breaking summer when it comes to heat..
According to the National Weather Service, there’s been only one day this in which the temperature topped 90. It hit 91 on June 13. On average, there are nine 90-degree days a year and at this point in the summer the thermometer should have reached 90 four times.
That puts the Pittsburgh record for 90 degrees considerably out of reach this year. In the scorching summer of 1988, it was 90 or hotter an unbelievable 38 days.
