Kennywood Bumper Car Ride Renamed
Kennywood has unveiled a new name for its famed scooter ride now themed after the amusement park's Potato Patch fries.

WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Kennywood's rebranded scooter ride that has a connection to the amusement park's famed Potato Patch fries now officially has a new name.
After a contest asking for suggestions to rename the bumper car ride, Kennywood announced on Wednesday that the fire will be called Potato Smash. That name claimed more than half of the almost 20,000 votes received in the contest.
The tasty transformation will mark the 50th anniversary of both the bumper cars and the fries.

The ride has received s getting a full makeover with 20 new cars modeled after the signature snack. Each car will be fitted with fries, oozing cheese sauce and an oversized fork.
“This classic ride showcases what Kennywood is known for, a perfect blend of modern thrills with a mix of the park’s beloved traditions,” Kennywood assistant general manager Rick Spicuzza said in a release.

Kennywood opens for the season on April 20.
