Kobe Bryant Death: Pittsburgh Athletes Reaction
The NBA legend was among nine people who died Sunday in a helicopter crash.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash Sunday stunned the world. Bryant, who had a 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, was one of nine people killed when the helicopter he was traveling in crashed and burst into flames in Calabasas, California; his daughter Gianna, 13, was among the victims.
Reaction to the devastating news poured in from around the globe, and many Pittsburgh athletes shared their reaction - among them Steelers running back James Conner, who met Bryant just last week.
I just met Kobe last wednesday, was in his office talking about our books and how everyday in life is a grind. I don’t believe this.

I told Kobe I’m tryna be legendary like him he simply said, “just grind, just grind everyday.” Truly thankful I was able to hear that from him days before he passed. I gotta go harder. And if I tell you I love you I mean it...

Conner was not the only Steeler or former Steeler to weigh in on the tragedy.
