Plans Advance For Large Video Screen At New North Shore Plaza

PITTSBURGH, PA — A major addition is likely for the North Shore across the street from PNC Park.

The Pittsburgh Planning Commission on Tuesday approved a proposed large LED video screen in a new plaza across the street from PNC Park. The screen would permit plaza patrons and passersby to view Pirates games and other events.

City council now must approve the 917-square foot screen that would be 22 feet tall and 40 feet wide.

The screen is expected to be a key component of the 30,000-square foot plaza, which will have games, activities, live music and and other entertainment, yoga, movies and more. It also will be available to host large group and corporate events.

Adjacent to the plaza will be a new experiential restaurant and bar on the first floor of a new six-story mixed-use building at the corner of Mazeroski Way and West General Robinson Street.

HiLife Hospitality is developing and will operate the restaurant and plaza. The company operates the successful local Burgatory and Shorty's restaurant chains.
