Latest Winter Storm To Bring Pittsburgh More Snow, Frigid Temperatures
A new wintry blast is on its way to Pittsburgh. Find out here how much snow is expected and how cold temperatures likely will be.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Right now, Punxsutawney Phil's Monday prediction of six more weeks of winter is looking accurate for Western Pennsylvania. More snow and frigid temperatures are Pittsburgh-bound.
The National Weather Service is predicting that a Canadian clipper will bring at least two inches of snow for the Pittsburgh area on Friday. The weather service is advising that driving conditions could become hazardous as the storm hits.
Snow squalls will be possible and higher accumulations are possible south and east of the city.

An Extreme Cold Watch is in effect for portions of the region, bringing dangerous wind chill values from late Friday night into Saturday. Behind the clipper, more arctic air will blast into the area. An extreme cold watch has been issued for much of the region, and wind chills in Pittsburgh could be as cold as 15 degrees below zero on Saturday.
The high temperature on Saturday is only expected to be 13, with a low Saturday night of three below zero.

There does appear to be light at the end of the meteorological tunnel, however, as temperatures next week are expected to climb where they have not been in a while: above freezing.
On Monday, the high is expected to be 34. On Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures are expected to creep above 40.
