At Least 3 Confirmed Tornadoes Hit Pittsburgh Wednesday
The National Weather Service has confirmed that at least three twisters touched down in the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather has confirmed that at least two tornadoes touched down in the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday evening -two one in Allegheny County, the other in Westmoreland County.
No injuries occurred in any of the twisters.
The strongest tornado caused damage in a swath just south of Route 22 from south of Delmont to southwest of Shieldsburg and New Alexandria. According to the weather service, it was a lower end strong tornado (EF2) with winds to about 115 mph.

Numerous very large trees snapped or were uprooted and power poles were toppled along Jobes Road between Beaver Run and Boggs Hollow roads.
The weather service said it was difficult to access all areas impacted by the tornado due to debris-related road closures. Details on the storm's length and width were not immediately available.

The other tornado occurred about two miles northwest of Oakdale in Allegheny County. The weather service said it was a low-end EF1 with winds around 90 mph.
The tornado uprooted or snapped trees along a path starting from Old Steubenville Pike near the intersection of Route 22 and Potato Garden Road. Other tree damage was noted along
Seabridge and Kelso roads.
Additional details about the twister's width and length are expected to be released later.
The weather service was still gathering information on the third tornado, which briefly touched down near the Allegheny-Westmoreland County line.
