Life-Threatening Conditions Possible For Steelers Playoff Game
The playoff game between the Steelers and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday is still on, but a state of emergency has been declared for the area.

BUFFALO, NY — A state of emergency has been declared for the Buffalo area in advance of the Steelers-Bills playoff game scheduled for Sunday here. Potentially life-threatening conditions and near-impossible travel conditions are likely, Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Friday.
As of Friday afternoon, the game was still on for 1 p.m. Sunday.
"New Yorkers are urged to pay close attention to the weather and make plans accordingly to stay safe, especially those planning to attend Sunday’s Buffalo Bills’ game," Hochul said in a statement on Friday.

"New Yorkers are being encouraged to enjoy the game from home, however if they are planning to attend the game, they should travel with extreme caution and pay very close attention to weather and travel updates throughout the weekend."
State College-based AccuWeather is expecting blizzard conditions and a potentially paralyzing amount of snow in the Buffalo area on Sunday.

"There's going to be a very narrow band of lake-effect snow. I think we have a real opportunity that this can come right into (Buffalo) on Sunday, and if it does, you're going to be looking at 1-3 feet of snow," meteorologist Bernie Rayno said.
