More Allegheny County Coronavirus Deaths Occur

Here are the latest coronvirus case statistics for Allegheny County and southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Coronavirus has claimed the lives of three more people in Allegheny County, the county health department announced Tuesday. The county death toll is now at 24.

The number of coronavirus cases in Allegheny County stood at 893 as of 11 a.m. Tuesday. That's up from 876 on Monday and 857 on Sunday.

One hundred and forty-two people have been hospitalized in the county during the outbreak, up from 134 on Monday and 130 on Sunday.

With 228 confirmed cases in Westmoreland County, 153 in Beaver County, 143 in Butler County and 69 in Washington County, that brings the total number of cases in the five-county
southwestern Pennsylvania region to 1,486 as of Tueday. That's up from 1,445 on Monday and 1,412 on Sunday.

According to the state Department of Health, there have now been been 47 coronavirus deaths
thus far in the five-county region: Twenty-four in Allegheny County, 13 in Beaver County, six in Westmoreland County and four in Butler County. That's up from 43 on Monday and 41 on Sunday.

According to state Department of Health figures, Allegheny County has recorded the ninth-most coronavirus cases in the state behind Berks, Bucks, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerene, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties.

All Pennsylvania counties remain under a stay-at-home order through at least April 30. Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered schools closed through the remainder of the academic year, and all non-life-sustaining businesses are closed indefinitely.
