Teams were surveying storm damage in Westmoreland County after severe weather ripped through the region early Wednesday morning.
PITTSBURGH, PA — More severe weather could be in store for the Pittsburgh area in the coming days after storms rolled through the western part of the state Tuesday night, spawning a possible tornado that damaged homes and trees in Westmoreland County.
Teams from the National Weather Service were surveying storm damage near Ligonier on Wednesday, TribLive and the Associated Press reported, after a tornado warning was issued for a portion of Westmoreland County between there and Derry shortly after 3 a.m.
The warning was one of several similar alerts issued as storms barreled through eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and western Pennsylvania during the overnight hours.
