Mother Of Slain 4-Year-Old Pittsburgh Girl Dies From Shooting Wounds

Temani Lewi, 21, and Kaari Thompson, 4, both were shot last week outside of a Lincoln-Lemington grocery.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Temani Lewis, the mother of the 4-year-old girl killed last week when both were shot, died Tuesday from her injuries.

Lewis and Kaari Thompson were shot December 1 outside the Brooklyn Food Market in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue in the city's Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood. Kaari was taken to Children's Hospital, where she died; Lewis was taken to the hospital and had been in critical condition until her death.

Police have not identified any suspects or revealed any motive for the shooting.

Lewis was set to go on trial next month on attempted homicide and other charges related to an shooting that wounded two women in the 7400 block of Stranahan Street in Homewood on Aug. 4,
