• Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

• Hartwood Acres

What better way to thank Mom for the 18 hours she spent in labor before having you than to take her on a guided tour of this county park's magnificent 16th Century,Tudor-style mansion? She gets in for free. You don't.

• Eat'nPark

Why spend $9.99 on a Mother's Day brunch buffet at the restaurant that will only have Mom worrying about how much she ate for the rest of the day? Exercise some caloric self-control by just stopping by for the free Smiley Cookie available to all mothers, all day, at all Eat'n Park locations.

• Senator John Heinz History Center.
