Myron Cope Honored, PA Dems Triumph & More: Weekly Wrap

PITTSBURGH, PA — It's not easy to defeat a celebrity TV star in an election even if he is, you know, accused of torturing dogs for medical research purposes. But John Fetterman did just that in defeating surgeon Mehmet Oz for the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Pat Toomey.
Fetterman and fellow Democrats Josh Shapiro (elected governor), Summer Lee (elected to the U.S. House) and Chris Deluzio (also elected to the U.S. House, but in a different district) rode a blue wave that swept over Pennsylvania during the Nov. 8 election.
