📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Pittsburgh who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

Here are the top stories in Pittsburgh today:

1) Yesterday was National Pizza Day. Locals chimed in on their favorite Pittsburgh pies. Standouts included Rockaway Pizzeria in White Oak, Mineo's sausage and pepperoni variation, Aiello's, and Luciano's pepperoni, sausage and onion pie. A local new outlet's Facebook post got 100 comments from local followers listing their favorites.

2) Feb. 9 broke 70 degrees in Pittsburgh, and that's a historical record. "According to KDKA-TV meteorologist Ray Petelin, the old record of 68 degrees was set in 1925 and tied in 2001." Interestingly, there is a history of an even warmer February temperature, just on a different date. Feb. 20, 2018, holds the record at 78 degrees. Following the warm day, weather professionals warned local residents about wind gusts peaking as high as 50 mph throughout Thursday night into this morning.

3) An analysis of the condition of Pittsburgh's walking and biking trails is part of the city's grant money spending plan. "The city is poised to accept a $73,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Community Conservation Partnerships Program to fund the trail condition study." The goal of the analysis is to create a way to measure and outline the condition of the city's trails so that officials can identify which ones may need additional maintenance or improvements. "The scope of the project is still not fully defined at this point," Maria Montaño, a spokesperson for Mayor Ed Gainey, said. "It's still very, very early in the process."

4) On ongoing legal dispute over last year's Maple House Music & Arts Festival in Pittsburgh has finally come to an end. "On Monday, Maple House Records and Elevation Festivals filed a 'stipulation of dismissal of entire case' in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio." "We reached an amicable resolution of the matter," Elevation president Denny Young wrote in an email. Details on any settlements are not public at this time. Even with last year's litigation still fresh in mind, at least one party in the now-settled dispute is planning to stage a music festival in Pittsburgh in 2023.

5) The Bureau of Consumer Protection is cautioning Pennsylvanians to be wary of Super Bowl scams: specifically related to purchasing Super Bowl LII tickets, or other products relating to the event. Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry wants sports fans to know that they can be scammed and end up buying fraudulent tickets or products without even realizing it. Here are a few tips: Be wary of the websites you visit. Don't click on banner ads or pop-ups on a legitimate website (like StubHub or Ticketmaster) that may take you to a different website. Don't buy tickets from a seller you don't know. Finally, use credit cards to provide fraud protection. Be wary of sellers asking for payment in gift cards, money orders, cryptocurrency or wire transfers, especially over the phone.
