NRA's Misfire, Iovino's Senate Victory & More: Weekly Wrap
The week's top news, presented as always in convenient linkable form.

PITTSBURGH, PA - This is an unusual way of shooting off your mouth. Mere hours after Pittsburgh city council approved controversial new gun control legislation, the National Rifle Association announced it had helped some city residents file a lawsuit challenging it.
The only problem with the announcement is that it wasn’t true. The lawsuit wasn’t filed - and can’t be filed - until Mayor Bill Peduto signs the bills into law. While Peduto backs the gun control measures, he has not said when he will put his signature on them.
This prompted several confusing hours as the search was on for a court document that wasn’t available in any court. The NRA should have kept the safety catch on before firing off its inaccurate press release.
