PA Nurse Who Drowned In Montana Park 'Radiated Warmth And Positivity'
A Pittsburgh-area nurse who drowned in a Montana national park is being recalled as someone who always looked for the good in others.
PITTSBURGH, PA — As the shock of her sudden death slowly settles in, those who knew Gillian Tones are remembering her as a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched.
Tones, 26, a traveling nurse from North Apollo northeast of Pittsburgh, drowned Sunday while hiking in Glacier National Park in Montana.
"Her presence radiated warmth and positivity," Sarah Tones wrote on the GoFundMe pageestablished to help with her sister-in-law's funeral expenses. "She had the uncanny ability to lift the spirits of those around her. Her enthusiasm for life was one many will remember her for.

"She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen and valued. Her compassion and empathy knew no bounds. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and listening ear."
Gillian Tones drowned after slipping s later stated that she slipped on wet, slick rocks and falling into a creek. She was quickly swept away by the water, went over several smaller waterfalls and was pinned underwater by a log for several minutes before being pulled from the river by other park visitors.

Attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.

Sarah Tones wrote that although Gillian's life was far too short, the impact of her life on those she shared it with will be long remembered.
"She taught us to embrace life fully, love deeply and always look for the good in others."
