WASHINGTON, D.C. — A top aide to Sen. John Fetterman provided an update on his treatment for clinical depression, saying he expects the Pennsylvania Democrat to return to work in the Senate soon.

Adam Jentleson, Fetterman’s chief of staff, tweeted pictures of the senator during a meeting on Monday with him at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where they discussed several items Fetterman is expected to work on once he resumes his duties full-time.

Fetterman, 53, who took office in January, checked himself into Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland on Feb. 15. He also was hospitalized a week earlier after becoming lightheaded at a Democratic Senate retreat.

Fetterman's health has been an issue since the former lieutenant governor suffered a near-fatal stroke while campaigning for the Senate last year.

Fetterman last week co-sponsored a rail safety bill introduced by Republican J.D. Vance and Democrat Sherrod Brown, both Ohio senators, in the aftermath of the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

“Our team is moving full speed ahead and working tirelessly for the people of Pennsylvania," Fetterman spokesman Joe Calvello said in a statement last week.
