UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — Traffic jams are legendary on autumnal Saturdays here as more than 100,000 fans attempt to get to Beaver Stadium to see the Penn State Nittany Lions in action. PennDOT is attempting to alleviate the situation as much as possible by offering motorists on the way to games real-time travel information.

The information available here will be online the Thursday prior to each home game until the Monday after it, so it can be used for the Lions home opener against Ball State Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

"Our goal is to help motorists plan ahead by providing them with as much information as
possible," PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian said. "By providing this real-time information, motorists can more easily plan the route that works best for them as they travel."
