Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Hit With Consumer Alert
An inspection revealed numerous violations at this Allegheny County eatery.

NORTH BRADDOCK, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Crud's Grill on Brinton Avenue in North Braddock.
An inspector on Tuesday observed a domesticated dog wandering next to the kitchen, in the bar and in the customer dining areas with no restrictions. The canine was not a trained service dog as defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act.
The dog in the establishment was a repeat violation.

Additionally, several flies were observed in the kitchen, in the bar, and in the hallway by the women’s restroom. In the men's restroom, no water is dispensed from either faucet nozzle in the handwashing sink.
Food from an unknown source, homemade pickled peppers, were found in a kitchen cooler. The peppers, said to have been supplied by a neighbor, were discarded as all restaurant foods must be prepared in a commercial kitchen.

The restaurant had a lack of operational refrigeration equipment, and various foods were found to be stored at unsafe temperatures. Additionally, a can of insecticide was found on the floor in the bar area.
Crud's remains open despite the violations.
