Pittsburgh's Best Hospitals: New U.S. News Rankings Released
US News & World Report evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for its 2018-19 rankings.

PITTSBURGH, PA - U.S. News & World Report has released its annual list of the best hospitals in America for 2018-19. More than 4,500 hospitals in the country across 16 specialties and nine procedures and conditions were evaluated in calculating the rankings.
In Pennsylvania, the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian was ranked as the state's best hospital.Coming in second was a Pittsburgh hospital, UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.
UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside was ranked 15th on the U.S. News Best Hospitals Honor Roll The honor roll consists of 20 hospitals that deliver "exceptional treatment across multiple areas of care." It was nationally ranked in 12 adult specialties and rated high performing in 2 adult specialties and 9 procedures and conditions.

U.S. News numerically ranked the state’s top 30 hospitals. Here are the best in the Pittsburgh area and where they finished in the Pennsylvania rankings:
1. UPMC Shadyside Presbyterian (2)
2. Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills (19)
3. Forbes Hospital, Monroeville (23)
4. St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon (23)
5. UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh (23)
6. UPMC Mercy, Pittsburgh (28)
