Pittsburgh Faces Severe Storm Threat
The National Weather Service says strong to severe storms are possible in Western Pennsylvania Thursday.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Western Pennsylvania could experience strong to severe storms today, according to the National Weather Service.
The primary risk from the storms will be potentially damaging winds. Rainfall amounts could approach an inch.
Counties under the severe weather advisory include Allegheny, Butler, Beaver, Washington, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion and Venango.

The storms are expected to be triggered by an approaching cold front that will bring an end to above average temperatures in the area, at least temporarily.
Today's high is expected to in the low 60s. With the passage of the cold front, temperatures are expected to fall to around 32 by 5 p.m. on Friday. That temperature will feel even colder as winds could gust up to 28 mph.

Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Temperatures are expected to rebound to the low 40s on Saturday.
