Pittsburgh Firefighter Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The first Pittsburgh firefighter has tested positive for the illness.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire firefighter has tested positive for the coronavirus, the city public safety department announced. The firefighter and his work location were not identified for privacy reasons.

The firefighter began experiencing flu-like symptoms on March 27 and has not worked since March 26. The firefighter is salf-isolating at home.

Officials have identified seven firefighters who came into contact with the firefighter on March 26. All seven firefighters have been instructed to self-quarantine at home. None are showing symptoms.
