Pittsburgh, Keep Those Snow Shovels Handy This Winter: AccuWeather
The Pennsylvania weather service has made its winter forecast for the nation. Many won't like what it predicts for Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Those who enjoyed the lack of snow in Western Pennsylvania last winter won't be pleased, but they should tune up their snowblowers and perhaps purchase a new shovel before the coming winter arrives.
State College-based AccuWeather released its 2023-24 winter forecast on Wednesday and it calls for considerably more snow than the amount that fell in 2022-23. The city received just 17.6 inches, far less than the average winter snowfall of 44.1 inches.
This year's prediction calls for less than average amounts of snow, but it likely will feel like more because of the scarcity of the white stuff last year. AccuWeather believes Pittsburgh will see between 28 and 36 inches.

AccuWeather advises people who live downwind from the Great Lakes - that would be you - should prepare for bouts of lake effect snow from late autumn through the beginning of next year. But December should be mild overall across the Midwest and Great Lakes.
