Pittsburgh Neighborhood Soon To Lose Only Supermarket

Customers of this soon-to-close Pittsburgh supermarket soon will need another place to purchase their groceries.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh neighborhood is about to lose its only grocery store.

The Shop 'n Save on Brownsville Road in Carrick is going out of business. Closing signs and signs indicating a closing sale of up to 50 percent off of prices have been posted, WTAE-TV reported.

A specific closing date has not been announced.

The closing could present a hardship for customers of the store. The nearest Giant Eagle in Brentwood is about an 11-minute drive from the Shop 'n Save, according to Google Maps. The nearest Aldi store is about 20 minutes away by vehicle, according to Google Maps.
