Pittsburgh Pizzeria Slapped With Consumer Alert
The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for a popular city pizza joint.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for Mia Pizza on Baum Boulevard in Bloomfield for numerous violations.
A recent inspection found pizza plates sitting in rodent droppings, and a mixer and single-service items covered in rodent droppings. The front counter, including floor-wall junctions, were encrusted with mouse droppings.
Rodent droppings also were discovered inside and under all items in a small side room; on shelving; on all shelves below the kitchen counters; throughout the employee restroom floor and on the shelf with the pizza plates that go in the oven.

Additionally food-contact surfaces were soiled, and cutting boards and the deli slicer contained food debris. Raw chicken wings in the walk-in cooler were spoiled.
The inspection also noted that walls throughout the pizzeria have old splattered food, grease, and grime build-up. The restroom toilet was leaking.
