Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium Reopening With Changes
Here are the details of the zoo's modified operations.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is reopening Friday as Allegheny County shifts from the yellow to the green phase of the state's coronavirus reopening plan. But the zoo is modifying operations and patrons will need timed tickets to enter.
The timed tickets are available online and are currently available in two week increments to allow for modifications to be made. There is no extra charge for timed tickets for zoo members.

- Closure of playground areas.
- No tram service.
- Limited capacity within the park.
- Social distancing markers throughout the park.
- Installed plexiglass barriers throughout the park.
- Closure of log ride.
- Closure of zip line.
- Single queuing lines.
While hand sanitizers will be available throughout the park, all guests are encouraged to bring hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol. All zoo staff members will be required to wear masks and visitors are encouraged to wear them as well. The Zoo in the Village will have masks for sale.
Zoo staffer will be continuously cleaning the property throughout the day, focusing additional attention on high touch points throughout the park, including restrooms.
