PITTSBURGH, PA — Several electrical and mechanical issues have forced the closure of the Monongahela Include until further notice, Pittsburgh Regional Transit announced Wednesday.

The transit agency shut down the incline at around 7 p.m. Tuesday following a malfunction that prevented cars from slowing down and stopping at both the upper and lower stations. No injuries were reported.

It's unclear if either of the cars were damaged as a result of the malfunction.
