Pittsburgh's Wet Spring Close To Setting Record
With just a few more rainy days, this spring will go down as the wettest on record, the National Weather Service says.
PITTSBURGH, PA — If you believe it's been a damp and dreary spring thus fari in Western Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service has evidence to back up your feelings.
According to the weather service, which has March 1 as the beginning of meteorological spring, Pittsburgh has had 32 days with measurable precipitation through April 21. That's only one shy of what 2021 had for the entire spring.
Those 32 days are tied for the 5th most ever and the most in a half-century.

Seems almost certain that this spring will be the wettest since records began being kept. The spring meteorological season runs through May, and the record is 34 days of precipitation during the season. That number was achieved in 1881 and 1911.
There is good news, however. After seeing snowflakes falling earlier this week, temperatures are expected to rebound to near 80 by Sunday.
