Popular Pittsburgh Cafe And Bakery Founder Dies: Report

The man behind the scenes at the landmark Pittsburgh location has passed away, according to a report.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Larry Lagattuta, the founder of the popular Strip District bakery and cafe Enrico Biscotti, has died, according to the Strip District Neighbors Facebook page.

"The Strip District Neighbors would like to express our condolences...he was a staple to the Strip District neighborhood and his famed biscotti are among the most treasured culinary delights in our community," the post stated.

"Enrico’s Biscotti is one of many success stories in the Strip District, expanding its store front and wholesale operations, employing more than a dozen people and producing more than 90,000 pounds of biscotti a year, as well as countless other cookies, tarts, cakes, croissants, breads and other delicious pastries.
