Popular Pittsburgh Restaurant Closing Its Doors

PITTSBURGH, PA — It was a brief run for Spork Pit Barbecue on East Carson Street on the city's South Side. The restaurant, which took over the former Double Wide Grill last fall, is closing on Tuesday.
Owner Steve Zumoff announced the impending closure during an online meeting this week hosted by the South Side Community Council, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported.
Zumoff said he plans to lease the restaurant space.

Spork Pit operated a successful barbecue eatery in Garfield that closed shortly before Zumoff and his business partner assumed control of the Double Wide Grill site. Located in a former service station, the Double Wide Grill operated for nearly two decades before its closure.
