Popular Pittsburgh Steakhouse Slapped With Consumer Alert

Inspectors found several high-risk violations at the restaurant.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Allegheny County Health Department has issued a consumer alert for the Ichiban Steakhouse in Waterworks Mall near Aspinwall.

Inspectors found that imitation crab, shrimp, beef and pork were stored in prep units that were at 45 to 48 degrees. A walk-in unit holding lo mien noodles, tofu, cut melon, cut lettuce, raw shell eggs, and assorted raw meats has temperatures at 46 to 50 degrees.

Those are considered high-risk violations, as food must be stored at temperatures of 41 degrees or lower.

Inspectors also found rice scoops in soiled water, another high-risk violation.
