Popular Pittsburgh TV Reporter Leaving For New City

A Pittsburgh TV reporter who garnered national news has announced her impending departure from the station.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV reporter Tori Yorgey, who gained national headlines when hit by a car while doing a live broadcast at her previous station, is leaving for a new TV market.

Yorgey made the announcement on social media.

"It's bittersweet to tell you I have accepted a position with our sister station, WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore," she stated in a Facebook post. "My last day at WTAE-TV Pittsburgh will be next next Wednesday, February 21.

"I’m so excited to be joining another incredible team, filled with talented journalists, and I’ll be less than two hours from my family I’m blessed I get to continue to grow in the career I love, while also being close to loved ones."

Yorgey has been with WTAE since 2022. She was struck by a vehiclewhile on the air at WSAZ-TV in Huntington, WV, shortly before joining the station but remarkably finished her report on a local water main break.
