Popular WPXI-TV Anchor Leaving Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA - WPXI-TV anchor Damany Lewis is leaving the station after nearly five years there. Lewis announced via social media that he has taken a job with WPXI's sister station in Charlotte, North Carolina, WSOC-TV.
Lewis anchors WPXI's noon newscast with Peggy Finnegan and is a reporter for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts.
"My family and I are excited about this new adventure, but we are saddened to leave all of our friends and neighbors that have become family in Pittsburgh," Lewis stated on Facebook. "The
old saying goes, 'Life is a journey not a destination.' Well, we can honestly say the journey
through Pittsburgh has been fulling beyond our hearts content and it's an experience we will always cherish and embrace."

According to his biography on the WPXI website, the Chicago native worked at TV stations in Sacramento for seven years before arriving in Pittsburgh. Before that, he worked in North Carolina at WXII-TV in Winston-Salem and WIXT-TV in Jacksonville. He also has worked at stations in Illinois and Florida.
