Public Threat Against Pittsburgh Mayor Probed By Federal, Local Agencies
Authorities are investigating a threat against Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O'Connor that was broadcast over police communication channels.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Federal and local authorities are probing antisemitic messages and a threat toward Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O'Connor that were made over emergency communication channels.
In a statement released Tuesday, Allegheny County officials said county emergency services, county police and a federal agency are investigating what was termed "the unauthorized use of public safety radio channels."
County emergency services on Monday was made aware of an unidentified radio subscriber transmitting hateful and threatening messages on the public safety radio channels.

"To be clear, the system was not hacked," the release stated.
"The unknown user was able to access the analog radio system and transmit the messages. This situation has happened in the past, and we take these matters seriously.

"Emergency Services immediately initiated an investigation and has requested the assistance of county police and the Federal Communications Commission."
