Rothfus Seemingly Toast, WTAE Anchor Leaves & More: Weekly Wrap

The top news of the week presented here in convenient linkable form.

PITTSBURGH, PA - There’s still more than a month to go before Election Day but is the nation’s only race between two incumbent congressmen - Republican Keith Rothfus and Democrat Conor Lamb - already over?

Rothfus certainly hasn’t given up, but his party apparently has done so.. The Republican Congressional Campaign Committee won’t pay for any more campaign commercials for him. The GOP, which desperately is attempting to maintain control of the House, apparently is prepared to cede Rothfus’ seat to Lamb and allocate its campaign funds to candidates with a better chance of victory.

Considering the Lamb has only been in office since March, this development qualifies as remarkable and the details of this story are worth a read - even if you aren’t a resident of the new 17th Congressional District.
