Sewickley Tavern Slated For Mid-March Opening
The team behind the former Cocothe restaurant are opening a more casual eatery in Sewickley.

SEWICKLEY, PA - A year after owner Courtney Yates and Chef Dave DeVoss closed their fine dining restaurant Cocothe in Sewickley, the pair are about to debut their latest venture. The Sewickley Tavern, a casual dining spot, will open March 17 in the former Bruneaux space on Beaver Street.
The tavern’s menu will be divided into snacks, small plates and large plates. Snacks range from unusual fare, such as Scotch duck egg and and honey andouille sausage, to more familiar items such as hush puppies with house-made beer cheese sauce and shrimp spring rolls. In the small
plates section, diners will find tavern baked oyster and beer tartare with quail egg. The large plats will include hearty tavern-style sandwiches in addition to jambalaya, sea bass and New York strip steak.
“We’ve always loved to surprise and delight our customers with beautiful, flavorful food,” Yates said. “At Cocothé we did that in a sophisticated, small setting. Now we’re doing it in a larger and more accessible environment so that more people can have the experience of eating well every day.”

Fans of Cocothé will be pleased to know that some of DeVoss’s biggest hits will live on in the new menu: “I took some of our customers’ favorites and I ‘taverned’ them,” he said. “The platings are simpler, the flavors are amazing, and every dish eats well.”
The restaurant will be open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. From Tuesday through Thursday, dinner runs from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. with happy hour drink specials from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, dinner hours are 5 p.m.-11 p.m. The restaurant seats 46 indoors plus an additional 62 on the outdoor patio when weather permits.
