St. Nicholas Kicks Off Pittsburgh's Greek Food Festival Season
See a Facebook Live video of the festival here.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Southwestern Pennsylvania's Greek food festival season has kicked off in grand style at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in the heart of Oakland. The event began yesterday as the Dick’s Sporting Good Pittsburgh Marathon was concluding and the food festival runs through Saturday.
You can enjoy delicious homemade Greek food for lunch or dinner, see live Greek bands, enjoy nightly dancing by the congregation's youth and dine outside under the tent.
Serving hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Music continues until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Patch visited the food festival for a Monday lunch and sampled the gyro (it’s pronounced “gyro” in Pittsburgh, not yeer-o) and took some baklava home. A Facebook Live video of the visit is below; unfortunately it does not contain the incredible aroma of the all of the delicious Greek fare being offered.
To experience that, you’re going to have to get there yourself.
