Steelers Could Be Brazil-Bound Next Season
The Steelers could be one of the teams playing in the NFL's first-ever game in South America. Their opponent would be the Philadelphia Eagle

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles both call Pennsylvania home. But there's a chance the two teams could square off in Brazil next season.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced on Monday that the Eagles are the designated "home" team for the league's first-ever game in São Paulo, Brazil. That means one of the Eagles' nine road opponents will be traveling to South America.
The Eagles' game in South America will take place during Week 1 against an opponent that will be revealed before the full 2024 regular-season schedule is released in the spring. The game will be played on Friday, Sept. 6, the first time the NFL has played a game on Friday night of Week 1 in more than 50 years. The Cardinals and the Rams clashed on a Friday in September 1970.

The Steelers' seemingly would be a prime candidate to be traveling south. They are cross-state rivals with the Eagles and they haven't played an international game sine 2013 - a 34-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings at Wembly Stadium in London.
The NFL announced in December that the league would play a regular-season game in Brazil during the upcoming season. 2024 season. The game will be played in Corinthians Arena, which has hosted a number of notable sporting events, including six matches during the 2014 FIFA Men's World Cup.
