PITTSBURGH, PA — The Steelers lost their best cornerback, Cam Sutton, to the Detroit Lions on Monday as NFL's free agency period began. But just several hours later, word broke that the team had signed All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson away from the Minnesota Vikings to replace him.

Peterson himself announced the move, which can't become official until Wednesday under NFL regulations, on Twitter. "Let's work, Steelers nation!" he posted.

Peterson, the league's active interceptions leader, will sign a two-year $14 million contract, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. The contract will include $5.85 million in guaranteed money.
